“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Wahoo Fitness and The Wahooligan Tour,” said Davis Phinney, Olympic medal-winning cyclist, and the Foundation’s founder, “The support raised from this event and the thousands of riders who’ve joined us over the past ten years have helped millions in our global community to navigate their Parkinson’s and live a better life. I look forward to pushing the pedals with everyone during the Tour in March!”

This worldwide virtual event has raised over $1,700,000 for education and quality-of-life research that helps people with Parkinson’s live well today. The event will unite participants for seven days of fun and inspiring indoor cycling workouts that can be tracked via the new and expanded Wahoo X platform, including the legendary Sufferfest workouts, RGT group rides, and more.

Plus, when participants fundraise as part of the Tour, they’ll earn entries into a prize pool that includes sought-after items from Wahoo, Sur PhytoPerformance, Rapha, Team DPF, Primal, BOCO Gear, and more! Sur PhytoPerformance has generously promised to match all pre-tour fundraising dollars up to $35,000.

“We are thrilled to be evolving the tour from Sufferlandria and expanding into the world of Wahoo X,” said Rupert Harold, Head of Wahoo Sports Science Operations. “This offers up many new opportunities with RGT that’s now part of Wahoo X; we can bring a sense of community and real-time interaction that was never possible before.”

Participants in The Wahooligan Tour can get started today with a 14-day free trial of Wahoo X and prepare for the Tour. Registration is only US $15, and additional entries in The Wahooligan Tour prize pool can be earned for each US $10 raised. If you want more information, you can head to the Officialosted in the Wahoo X Forum to learn about Race Village and what’s available for all Tour participants. Participants can learn how to set up a personal fundraising page and start a Facebook fundraiser here to kick off their support of the Davis Phinney Foundation’s work and earn incentives and prizes.

Cycling is one of the best activities people with Parkinson’s can do to manage symptoms, connect with others, and have fun. The Tour is a great way to give back and help those affected by Parkinson’s live better.

The Davis Phinney Foundation was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. The Foundation focuses on providing programs, early-stage research, and resources to help people living with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life. Parkinson’s is the number two neurodegenerative disease – second to Alzheimer’s – and affects more than one million people in the United States. The Foundation’s work impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals and families annually.

Team DPF is the grassroots fundraising community of the Foundation. With a focus on fun, personal empowerment, and fundraising for Parkinson’s, Team DPF welcomes all ages and abilities. While its roots are in cycling, Team DPF hosts events that include runners, climbers, swimmers, hikers, community activists, and more. Team DPF is sponsored by Primal, SUR PhytoPerformance, SCRATCH Labs, Wahoo Fitness, BOCO Gear, Rick Baker Insurance, Wild Bill’s Warriors, and Catrike.

Wahoo Fitness was founded in 2009 by Chip Hawkins in Atlanta, GA. It creates innovative solutions to make hard-fought goals attainable and lives better. Wahoo was built on the foundation of simplicity and the mindset that “there’s got to be a better way.” Learn More Here
