FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Peter Bergen has joined the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's as the Vice President of Operations.

Bergen is a pharmacist by training with over 20 years of experience in various capacities—most recently, in specialty pharmacy supporting complex and chronically ill home infusion patients, including dispensing Duopa for Parkinson's patients.  He has been a working pharmacist for the last 16 years with what is now the Cigna Corporation;13 years of that was leading large teams or leaders of large teams. In that time, he guided teams with respect, inspired others, and challenged others to stretch to do the "right thing.”

“I have consistently helped my teams to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve. It excites me that some of those same attributes that have driven me are well expressed in the Davis Phinney Foundation's core values,” says Bergen.  He is looking forward to leading the Davis Phinney Foundation team in ways to operate efficiently, strategically grow, develop, and, ultimately, to win!

The Davis Phinney Foundation was created in 2004 by Olympic medalist and retired professional cyclist Davis Phinney to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. The Foundation’s focus is to provide programs and resources that offer inspiration, information, and tools that help people living with Parkinson’s take action that can immediately improve their quality of life. Through the Every Victory Counts® manual, Ambassador Leadership program, Healthy Parkinson’s Communities™ initiative, funding of quality-of-life research, and extensive online content, the Foundation impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals each year.
