What is oxidative stress-induced Parkinsonism, and what does COVID have to do with it?

Oxidative Stress-Induced Parkinsonism - Davis Phinney Foundation

We recently had the chance to talk to Davis Phinney Foundation board member Peter Schmidt, PhD, about a study he worked on about how infection with the virus that causes COVID-19 enhances susceptibility to oxidative stress-induced parkinsonism.

In the first part of the presentation, Pete gives a brief introduction of what Parkinson's is. His visuals really bring it to life and make it easy to understand. In part two, Pete talks about past and present studies that attempt to understand the role that infections have played in Parkinson's and parkinsonisms.

Watch his presentation below.
