Welcome to Our New Davis Phinney Foundation Board Members

Davis Phinney Foundation Board Members

As 2018 quickly comes to a close, we’d like to announce three new members of our Board of Directors. We’re excited to have them join us and to benefit from their years of diverse experience so we can continue to help people with Parkinson’s live well today.

You can read their full bios, along with those of our other board members, here.

In the meantime, here’s a quick snapshot of who they are and what they do.

Pete Schmidt - Davis Phinney FoundationPeter Schmidt is the Vice Dean at the Brody School of Medicine of East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He believes that when you care to give people living with Parkinson’s the very best, then they feel that their health is important. They stand straighter, they push harder. They realize the benefits of their care more and look forward to the next time you meet. He’s looking forward to being part of an organization that’s focused on helping people to feel a part of the community of caring around them.

Soania Mathur - Davis Phinney FoundationSoania Mathur is a former family physician and now dedicated speaker, writer, educator and Parkinson’s advocate living with Parkinson’s. She believes that until a cure is found, people living with Parkinson’s must become active participants in their own disease management and make strides towards optimizing their quality of life. She feels very fortunate to align herself with such a great organization that believes the same.

When she’s not working, you can find her spending each and every free moment with her three girls and her husband because family always comes first for her!

Erica Borenstein - Davis Phinney FoundationErica Borenstein is General Counsel of Farmland Partners Inc. With an uncle who is living with Parkinson’s, Erica has seen first hand the importance of taking action every day—no matter what challenges you face—to live well. She believes that the power of the Parkinson’s community can significantly improve the mind, body and spirit for people living with Parkinson’s. She’s inspired by the Davis Phinney Foundation’s team and each person’s commitment and enthusiasm to achieve its mission.

When Erica is not working, you can find her watching her daughters play volleyball or on her yoga mat!

Welcome to the Board, Pete, Soania and Erica!
