Welcome to 2023! As the Foundation grows and changes, we are always thrilled to bring new voices and perspectives to our team. This January, we’re welcoming two new members to the Davis Phinney Foundation board of directors, Dr. Wissam Deeb and Darcy Taylor. Thank you so much, Wissam and Darcy, for joining our Foundation in this capacity. We can’t wait to see what we can do together for the Parkinson’s community!
You can read their full bios, along with those of our other board members, here.
In the meantime, here’s a quick snapshot of who they are and what they do.
Dr. Wissam Deeb joined the Foundation as a founding member of our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Advisory Board in 2020. He is a movement disorders specialist and assistant professor of neurology at UMass. Dr. Deeb has a clinical and research interest in Parkinson’s, focusing on improving disparities in care, and Tourette syndrome, focusing on incorporating technological advancements such as wearable devices in clinical and everyday care. We are excited for him to bring his depth of knowledge and expertise around access and inclusion to our Board of Directors.
Darcy Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity® of Ventura County. He has over 30 years of executive leadership, fundraising, strategic planning, senior nonprofit leadership, and development experience for health and human service organizations. Darcy has served as Vice President of Constituent Relations for the National Parkinson Foundation, Director of Constituent Relations for the National Alliance of Mental Illness, and Senior Vice President of Development of the Model Cities Program for the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families. We are thrilled to welcome Darcy to our Board of Directors and look forward to his help in shepherding us into the next phase of the Foundation’s growth.
Welcome to the Board, Wissam and Darcy!
