Explore Our New In-Depth Parkinson’s Medication Guide

EVC medication guide on laptop, smart devices

As part of our new collection of Every Victory Counts® resources, we are excited to share a new best-in-class Parkinson's Medication Guide.

Parkinson's medication treatment is typically divided into motor and non-motor symptom categories. Using our robust online tool, you can learn about the different types of Parkinson’s medications, the names of common Parkinson’s medications, and the symptoms that can be managed by using these medications. You can search for medications by type and symptom, or via an alphabetical list.

Our Parkinson's Medication Guide will help you explore medications for motor symptoms (such as carbidopa/levodopa, dopamine agonists, amantadine, and more), as well as medications that can help you manage non-motor symptoms including depression, anxiety, fatigue, constipation, and more.

There are many different classes of medications that offer options for people with mild to advanced symptoms. Treatment discoveries are also progressing at a rapid pace, and new medications are continually added to the growing list. Because of the variety of medication options, it's essential that you communicate openly and regularly with your physician if your medications aren’t working or you’re interested in trying something new. A medication switch could be the key in going from feeling okay to feeling great.

The Medication Guide was edited by movement disorder specialist Aaron Haug, MD. Dr. Haug attended undergraduate at Creighton University and then earned his medical degree at the University of Kansas. He completed his neurology residency as well as a fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Colorado, including a year as Chief Resident. His medical interests include Parkinson’s, tremor, and other movement disorders, as well as deep brain stimulation (DBS) and botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of neurological conditions.
