LOUISVILLE, CO – More than three decades ago, a lasting bond was forged between Ben Serotta and Davis Phinney through their shared passion for racing bicycles. In a pivotal moment, Serotta meticulously crafted Phinney’s bicycle for the 1984 Olympics, marking the start of an enduring collaboration that spanned over ten remarkable years of Phinney’s illustrious competitive cycling career. Now, Serotta Cycling, under the visionary leadership of Ben Serotta, is poised to uphold this rich legacy by designing an exclusive custom bicycle for the upcoming Davis Phinney Foundation event, the Serotta Bike Sweeps.

A model of innovation, Serotta Cycling is going to build one lucky winner a Serotta SE T9 (Signature Edition, Titanium) worth $12,500. It is a designed to order, custom-crafted bicycle for either a ride on paved roads, gravel, or a bit of both. Serotta will build a bicycle that inspires the winner of the Serotta Sweeps to ride more.

The Davis Phinney Foundation was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. The Foundation focuses on providing programs, early-stage research, and resources to help people living with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life. Parkinson’s is the number two neurodegenerative disease, second to Alzheimer’s, and affects more than one million people in the United States. The Foundation’s work impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals and families annually.

Ben Serotta, Serotta Cycling, has been designing and building bicycles for more than forty years. Best known for his bespoke racing bicycles, Serotta played a central role during America’s rise as a modern cycling power in the 1980’s and 1990’s, when all great frames were steel or titanium. During that period, Serotta’s company crafted hundreds of bicycles for the renowned 7/11, Coors Light, Weight-Watcher’s, US National, and numerous other trade teams and were raced to victory in National, European, World Championship, and Olympic titles in road, time-trial, track, mountain, and triathlon events.
