Moments of Victory® – Brett Miller Gives Back to the Parkinson’s Community

Brett Miller Skydive - Davis Phinney Foundation

What is your connection to Parkinson’s?

I am the owner of 110 Fitness in Rockland, Massachusetts. 110 Fitness is the largest fitness and wellness center in the world for individuals with Parkinson's. I lost an aunt to Parkinson's and am honored to give back to this community by helping our members live their best lives on a daily basis and working to help find a cure for Parkinson's. We're involved with many foundations and research studies such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the Cleveland Clinic, Not Impossible Labs, Mass General Hospital, as well as many local universities such as Boston University, Boston College and Northeastern University.

What made you want to become a Parkinson’s Ambassador for the Davis Phinney Foundation?

I wanted to become an ambassador for the Davis Phinney Foundation so that I could keep my finger on the pulse of the latest information, research and resources in the Parkinson's community to better serve our members at 110 Fitness and to help more people within the community. I am also excited to get more involved globally with Parkinson's world advocates.

What do you hope to accomplish through your work as an Ambassador?

I want to continue to build even more community awareness of all of the resources available through the Davis Phinney Foundation.

How do you live well each day?

I am self-disciplined through daily exercise, proper nutrition, ample rest and surrounding myself with family and positive people.

BRETT MILLER'S PHILOSOPHY

What do you wish everyone living with Parkinson's knew about living well?

That it's okay to get involved and that they never have to feel alone again.

Brett Miller is one of the newest members of our cohort of Davis Phinney Foundation Ambassadors. Our Ambassadors are "living well leaders" who share resources and information throughout their local and regional communities to help people take action and improve their quality of life with Parkinson’s.
