Make this giving season more impactful through a tax-savvy gift

Tax-free-giving-Davis Phinney Foundation

As the holidays are approaching, many of our supporters celebrate with family and friends and support the causes they love during this season of giving. And people living with Parkinson's need your support more than ever this year.

At the Davis Phinney Foundation, we want to support our community with a free resource that helps you make this giving season more impactful

If you’re 70.5 or over and would like to give back to the Davis Phinney Foundation, consider making a gift from your IRA! This tax-savvy way of giving saves cash for your immediate needs, can reduce your future tax burden, and helps people with Parkinson’s live well today by providing them with the education, tools, resources, and inspiration needed for every area of life!

When you withdraw funds from your IRA, your taxes typically increase; however, donating money directly to the Davis Phinney Foundation from your IRA allows you to give tax-free, whether you itemize deductions or not. Also, if you are 72 and over and must take Required Minimum Distributions, they are usually taxed as ordinary income. An IRA gift to the Davis Phinney Foundation counts toward your RMD without counting toward your taxable income for the year.

With FreeWill’s free and secure online tool, you do not need to worry about looking for the correct forms or tax information to give money from your IRA — our tax information will already appear, and any other instructions will be clear and easy to follow.

Give from your IRA today!

Thank you for supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation in our mission to help people with Parkinson’s live well TODAY.

If you have any further questions about IRA giving, please contact us at 1-866-358-0285 or legacy@dpf.org.
