The Davis Phinney Foundation proudly supports and funds research projects that address quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s. While we’re all hoping for a cure, our research focuses on therapies and strategies to help people live well with Parkinson’s TODAY.

On our Science Advisory Board, we work with leading experts in quality of life research to change what it means to live with Parkinson’s. We work closely with innovative thinkers both through the work we fund and as advisors.

During Parkinson’s Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting some of the amazing research being done and the driving forces behind it. Today, we are happy to feature an interview with Science Advisory Board chair Joohi Jimenez-Shahed, MD.

Joohi Jimenez-Shahed is a Movement Disorders Neurologist, in Mount Sinai, New York City. She first got involved with the Davis Phinney Foundation at a Victory Summit event in Minneapolis, MN. Over time, she has also become engaged with the Science Advisory Board. She decided to become chair for this board because of the Davis Phinney Foundation’s unique focus on quality of life. This means there’s an opportunity to make an immediate impact to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. She also values the wonderful group of highly knowledgeable people that make up the Science Advisory Board.
