Stacey Macaluso
Cherry Hill, New Jersey
I have been working with the Parkinson’s community for over 11 years. I first began teaching Dance for PD at the Virtua Rohrer Center in 2013, where I first learned of the need for Parkinson’s programs in our Southern New Jersey/ Philadelphia area.
I started the Parkinson’s Connection at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ from 2017-2022. I’ve led and developed the program to be one of the largest exercise and wellness programs on the east coast for people with PD. As coordinator and coach, I have received many awards for my work. I was recognized as SJ Magazine Women of Excellence in 2020 being named, “Game Changer” in South Jersey for bringing wellness programming to the local area for the Parkinson’s community. In 2020 I was a nominee for the Rock Steady Boxing Coach of the Year award. I was also awarded the Katz JCC People’s Choice Award in 2021 honoring me for my contribution and work with the Parkinson’s community.
I accepted a position as a Davis Phinney Foundation Ambassador in 2019, and am also an ambassador for the PMD Alliance.
In 2022, I founded Mission PD, a 501(3)(c) where I am a life coach, advocate, and fitness specialist virtually and in person for people all over the world. The brick-and-mortar location for Mission PD in Maple Shade, NJ is where members can practice and exercise skills and fitness under a keen eye in person. I am certified in Rock Steady Boxing, Pedaling for Parkinson’s, PWR Moves! Dance for PD as well as guiding clients to full body strength training as a personal trainer live and virtually on zoom.
I practiced as a dental hygienist for 3 decades in the South Jersey community before giving up my career in the dental field to dedicate my time and life to helping those with Parkinson’s disease. I live in New Jersey with my husband Michael of 30+ years, where we raised their children Adrienne, Michael, and Abigail.
