Davis Phinney Foundation Receives $200k matching Grant

Just in time for end-of-year giving, generous donors offer to match individual contributions

December 28, 2021 — The season of giving is in full swing. The Davis Phinney Foundation is delighted to announce that thanks to the generous donation from the Irwin Narter Family Foundation, individuals will have their end-of-year contributions matched dollar for dollar.

The $200,000 matching donation will be applied to gifts postmarked by or submitted online by midnight December 31, 2021. Donations to the Davis Phinney Foundation are tax-deductible and will help support the educational programs, quality of life research, and resources the Foundation offers to help people with Parkinson's and their families live well today.

"We are so grateful for the giving spirit of our community," said Richard Cook, Davis Phinney Foundation director of development. “With this generous support, we can double our donor's impact. “These funds help us share our bounty of educational resources—from live monthly webinars to The Victory Summit® Virtual Event series to the Every Victory Counts® suite—to our global Parkinson's community for free. They also help us support important advances in Parkinson's research while improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s right away.”

"Our mission is to help people with Parkinson’s live well today, and our community and supporters are the reason we’re able to see this mission through,” said Davis Phinney. “We are grateful to have the support of such generous and enthusiastic individuals working together toward this common goal.”

About Us

The Davis Phinney Foundation was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson’s live well today. The organization provides programs, early-stage research, and resources that offer inspiration, information, and tools focused on helping people with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life. Parkinson’s, currently the world’s fastest-growing neurodegenerative condition, affects more than one million people in the United States and more than 10 million people worldwide. The Foundation’s work impacts hundreds of thousands of these individuals and their families each year.
