Best practices around Covid-19 safety are constantly evolving. Due to the cost and access to PCR tests, we will not require a negative PCR to attend the event. Updated guidelines and recommendations for the event are below.

We aim to keep all in-person participants of the Healthy Parkinson’s Communities Leadership Conference safe and healthy throughout this event. As such, we will implement the following practices with our staff and encourage all participants to follow these guidelines as well:

  • Test daily. Davis Phinney Foundation staff will complete at-home COVID-19 tests each day of the event and will only participate in person if we have a negative test that day. We will provide all in-person participants with at least two at-home tests in event bags.
  • Communicate and respect personal boundaries.  We will use a color-coded system on name tags to help attendees communicate their level of comfort with touch. Please respect the comfort level of others and freely express your own.
  • Use and respect the use of masking. Many staff will choose to mask when participating indoors during the event, and we encourage you to do the same if that is your preference. We will also respect others, no matter their choice.

Compliance with these guidelines will be enforced only by the honor system. We hope all participants can follow the practices above that best serve them and our community.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your program manager or contact us at [email protected].

For the most up to date information about Covid-19 recommendation and precautions, please visit the CDC website.

If you should test positive for COVID-19 at any point during the event, we ask that you let Foundation staff member (and your point of contact for travel grants) Kayla Ferguson know that you have tested positive, do not return to the event, and adhere to CDC guidance for quarantine and isolation. You may use your travel grant (up to $1,500) to cover any additional costs associated with adjusting your travel schedule, but the Davis Phinney Foundation will not be able to cover costs that exceed $1,500.

If you have questions, please contact the Community Engagement team at [email protected]
