Wahoo Fitness and The Wahooligan Tour Raise Over $200K for the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s.

1500 Riders Participate to Benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s Education and Research

(Louisville, CO, April 7, 2023)

The Davis Phinney Foundation garnered over $200K in a partnership with Wahoo Fitness and its indoor cycling event, The Wahooligan Tour, previously called the Tour of Sufferlandria. Over 1500 riders from 45 countries participated in the seven-day virtual tour from Sunday, March 12, through Saturday, March 18, 2023. All proceeds benefit the educational programs, community resources, and research of the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s.

“We’re thrilled to have such an amazing result through our partnership with Wahoo Fitness and The Wahooligan Tour,” said Davis Phinney, founder of the Davis Phinney Foundation and Olympic medal-winning cyclist. “The support raised from this event and the incredible support of the Wahoo Fitness team goes a long way toward helping so many affected by Parkinson’s.”

This worldwide virtual event has raised over $1,900,000 for education and quality-of-life research that helps people with Parkinson’s live well today. The tour showcased seven days of fun and inspiring indoor cycling workouts tracked via the new and expanded Wahoo X platform, including the legendary Sufferfest workouts, RGT group rides, and more.

Participants vied for prizes, including sought-after items from Wahoo, Sur PhytoPerformance, Rapha, Team DPF, Primal, BOCO Gear, and more! Additionally, Sur PhytoPerformance contributed to the fundraising goal by matching fundraising dollars up to $35,000.

“We are so pleased to achieve such a result and evolve The Tour from Sufferlandria and expand into the world of Wahoo X,” said Rupert Harold, Head of Wahoo Sports Science Operations. “The funds raised, combined with many new opportunities by expanding to the Wahoo X training platform, brought a sense of community pride and real-time interaction that was never possible before. We’re honored to join forces with the Davis Phinney Foundation to make a difference in the lives of people with Parkinson’s.”

Wahoo X’s all-in-one membership provides cyclists with the full breadth of year-round riding and training experiences. It is the ultimate virtual and real-world cycling and training ecosystem – indoors and outdoors, structured training, virtual riding, racing, and challenges. Whatever being a better athlete means to the cyclist, Wahoo X offers the most comprehensive ways to get there.
