John Savarese

Chatham, New Jersey

John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019, after experiencing tremors and other common symptoms. After going through the acceptance phase of the diagnosis, John quickly realized that he was not alone and has the support of his family, friends, and the Parkinson’s community. Since then, John has taken a proactive approach to living well with Parkinson’s.

Recently retiring from his career as a cyber security consultant, John participates in the local Rock Steady Boxing program, regularly practices Qi Gong, makes sure to eat a proper diet, and is part of a local support group. John believes that education is medicine and that it’s important to understand how you can live well by leveraging the information available to you. Doing significant research surrounding Parkinson’s after his diagnosis, John is looking forward to helping others learn about their diagnosis and better understand how they can live well today.

On a perfect Sunday, you can find John spending time with his wife Kelly, his friends and fellow Parkinson’s community members, and two daughters. That is, when he’s not exercising of course!
