Diversity PD Provides Parkinson’s Care

Diversity PD. It's a picture of a group of people of various skin colors, ages, and hair colors. They are wearing neutral tones. They are smiling people. They are all holding their arms over each other's shoulders.

In 2021, we extended a grant to DIVERSITY PD, a foundation that provides high-quality care to people with Parkinson's who come from traditionally underserved communities.

In 2022, we renewed this grant because of the measurable impact they are making on their community.

Led by The Parkinson Council and in collaboration with top academic movement disorders programs in the region (Penn, Thomas Jefferson, Drexel University, Cooper University), they are helping people overcome barriers to access and the care they (and all) deserve.

Recently, our community grants manager Kayla Ferguson sat down with Wendy Lewis, CEO of The Parkinson Council, and Andrew Siderwof, Director of the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Center of the University of Pennsylvania, to talk about the initiative, the relationships they are building to make this work happen, and their goals for 2023. Watch their conversation below.
