The Davis Phinney Foundation Board of Directors Adds Two New Members

Wissam Deeb and Darcy Taylor are being welcomed to the board of directors for the davis phinney foundation for Parkinson's.

Wissam Deeb and Darcy Taylor have been elected to the Davis Phinney Foundation's Board of Directors. They bring a wealth of experience in Parkinson’s, leadership, diversity, and inclusion. The board comprises 15 members who advise and lead the Foundation in making strategic decisions. With the two new additions to the Board of Directors, Davis Phinney Foundation is positioned for strategic growth in 2023 and beyond.

Dr. Wissam Deeb joined the Foundation as a member of our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Advisory Board in 2020. He is a movement disorders specialist and assistant professor of neurology at UMass. Dr. Deeb has a clinical and research interest in Parkinson's, focusing on improving disparities in care, and Tourette syndrome, focusing on incorporating technological advancements such as wearable devices in clinical and everyday care. Dr. Deeb brings extensive knowledge and expertise around access and inclusion to the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Darcy Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity® of Ventura County. He has over 30 years of executive leadership, fundraising, strategic planning, senior nonprofit leadership, and development experience for health and human service organizations. Taylor has served as Vice President of Constituent Relations for the National Parkinson Foundation, Director of Constituent Relations for the National Alliance of Mental Illness, and Senior Vice President of Development of the Model Cities Program for the National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families. Taylor's experience will be pivotal in the next phase of the Foundation's growth.

 


 

The Davis Phinney Foundation was founded by Olympic cyclist Davis Phinney in 2004 to help people with Parkinson's live well today. The organization's focus is to provide programs and resources that offer inspiration, information, and tools that enable people living with Parkinson's to take action that can immediately improve their quality of life. Parkinson's is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's and affects more than one million people in the United States. The Foundation's work impacts hundreds of thousands of individuals and families annually. It is headquartered in Louisville, Colorado.
