First Month Coaching Fees to be donated to Davis Phinney Foundation
(October 20, 2016 – Colorado Springs, CO) In an effort to raise money for the Davis Phinney Foundation, coaching company, CTS, will donate athletes’ first month coaching fees to the non-profit in the athletes’ names. The “First Month for Phinney” offer is the first collaboration to result from the recently-signed partnership between the Davis Phinney Foundation and CTS.
“Every victory counts, and this is a win-win-win scenario,” said Chris Carmichael, CEO and Founder of CTS. “Athletes win twice with great coaching service and a tax deduction, and the Davis Phinney Foundation wins by receiving more donations to support their mission to help people with Parkinson’s live well today.”
Athletes who visit www.trainright.com/phinney and sign up for a new 12-month CTS Coaching Package before November 15th will have their first monthly coaching fee – which ranges from $165 to $1285 based on service level – donated to the Davis Phinney Foundation. Donations will be made in each athlete’s name and the Foundation will issue receipts in order to deduct the donation from their 2016 taxes.
Davis Phinney was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s disease in 2000 at the age of 40. He founded the Davis Phinney Foundation in 2004, and the non-profit has since raised millions of dollars to improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s. Phinney and Carmichael were teammates on the 1984 Olympic team and the famed Team 7-Eleven in the 1980s. Both Phinney and Carmichael have been inducted in the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame.
“CTS is doing a great thing for athletes and the Davis Phinney Foundation with this offer,” said Chris Brewer, Director of Development for the Davis Phinney Foundation. “They are donating their coaching services so athletes can simultaneously pursue their own performance goals and support the fight against Parkinson’s.”
CTS is a personal coaching company offering proven personal coaching for cyclists, triathletes and runners, along with training camps, training with power, nutrition services and much more to athletes of all ability levels. In addition to supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation’s fundraising efforts, CTS will be working with the Foundation to create unique content to help the Parkinson’s community take advantage of the benefits exercise, particularly cycling, can have for people living with Parkinson’s.
