Jolivette “Joly” Butler View in Spanish

Mascoutah, Illinois

I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in June 2019. And like everyone after coming out of the shock of the diagnosis I decided to exercise on a daily basis to delay the progression of Parkinson.

Being able to help someone in your own tongue and offer information in Spanish is important, sharing with others your experience and get to meet people in your Hispanic community.

For is trying to live the best way possible with this condition, the will to keep on going daily and live to the fullest and reinforce the good and the pretty that life has to offer. I think maintaining a positive mind helps a lot with our conditions. Cheer up, Parkinson’s does not define us.

What motivated me was the potential to help others whether it’s through a phone call or participating in a support group in my own language. I enjoy walks with my family in nature, going fishing, and going to the craft market. I love to go to a a soccer games.
