Title: Victory Crew Intern

Reports to the Victory Crew Program Manager and Foundation Staff

Purpose of Position:

The Victory Crew intern will assist the Victory Crew Program Manager and Foundation staff  in support of our grassroots fundraising efforts.

About the Position:

The Davis Phinney Foundation’s grassroots fundraising program is the Victory Crew.  This unpaid internship is for detail-oriented, self-starters who are eager to gain nonprofit organization experience while being part of some exciting events and a dynamic team. The position provides a unique opportunity to come away with an array of resume-building experience, including event coordination, fundraiser cultivation, and marketing skills in addition to the ins and outs of a nonprofit organization. A commitment of 30 hours a week is required, and there is an opportunity attend fundraising bike rides and other events.

Three internships available: Spring, Summer* and Fall. This position is for 30 hours a week in the Foundation offices and the internship is for college credit only. Housing assistance may be available.

* Summer internship is for 15-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the Victory Crew’s social media platforms under the Program Manager’s direction
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with fundraisers and provide resources
  • Research and develop off-season fundraising and sponsorship leads and ideas
  • Summer position only: support the event planning and logistical efforts of the Victory Crew Program Manager in the following events:
    • Road to Victory Bicycle Classic – June 2 & 3
    • USA Pro Cycling Challenge  – August 20-26
    • Copper Triangle Classic – August 3 & 4

Requirements:

  • Social media savvy
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative
  • Demonstrated past leadership and achievement
  • Strong critical thinking skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong computer and processing skills, including experience working with: Microsoft Office for Mac: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Fundraising and event planning experience preferred
  • An interest in exercise, nonprofits, and event planning preferred
  • Required education: HS/GED diploma
